American Association for Cancer Research offre une formation financée aux USA pour 2023-2024

Deadline : 31 août 2023 à 17h

Voici tous les détails en anglais.

The AACR Research Training Fellowships offer an exclusive opportunity for academic clinicians to undergo specialized industry-academic clinical training focused on drug development. These fellowships in the USA are designed to facilitate practical training at the facilities of the American Association for Cancer Research, AACR’s pharmaceutical industry partners. Each selected fellow receives a generous stipend of $100,000 for a one-year duration to support their training and research endeavours while also enabling them to fully dedicate their time and efforts to the training program. This stipend covers living expenses and other costs associated with their training, allowing them to focus entirely on acquiring new skills and knowledge.

The primary objective of the CORE research fellowships is to foster collaboration between academia and the pharmaceutical industry. By bringing together the best of both worlds, the program accelerates the translation of cutting-edge research discoveries into potential therapies and treatments for cancer patients. This mutually beneficial relationship between academic institutions and industry partners enhances the overall progress in the fight against cancer.

The fellowship in the USA is specifically tailored for aspiring clinical scientists who hold a medical degree (MD, DO, or MD/PhD) in the early stages of their careers. It aims to provide them with valuable insights and expertise in drug development, focusing on the pharmaceutical industry’s perspective. Through this training fellowship in the USA, international fellows will have the opportunity to gain practical experience in various aspects of drug development, such as clinical research, clinical trial design, and data analysis. This practical exposure equips them with real-world skills and knowledge essential for their professional growth in the field of drug development and clinical research.

The fellow is responsible for carrying out clinical activities and research projects throughout the one-year program. Depending on the fellow’s background, there may also be opportunities to delve into additional focus areas, such as preclinical research or biomarker discovery. Moreover, the program offers avenues for the fellow to publish and present their completed work, allowing them to showcase their contributions to the scientific community.

The program has formed partnerships with various industry players, each with its unique area of interest. AstraZeneca, situated in Gaithersburg, MD, concentrates on late-stage clinical development within medical affairs, primarily in the field of haematology/oncology.

Johnson & Johnson’s facility location is yet to be confirmed, with potential sites being considered in the greater Boston or Philadelphia areas. They are actively involved in early-stage clinical development, with a specific focus on interventional immuno-oncology therapies for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Moreover, they are engaged in an early-stage clinical development program that aims to intercept lung cancers in a high-risk population. So if you are an aspiring scientist or scholar interested in research on the clinical side, check the details below and apply accordingly.
